Better to Play it Safe?

    Q.        With so much confusion and conflicting positions on this matter, wouldn't it be best to take the "sure path" and wait until one's child becomes of age to make that decision for themselves?

    A.        If we would consider the possibility that paedo-baptists could be correct, then it would be true that not baptizing infants would forfeit God's revelation concerning His covenant.  This would jeopardize our comprehension of a special relationship between God and the children of believers.  All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. (II Timothy 3:15-17 ESV)  As far as "playing it safe" is concerned, if infant baptism is biblical, not doing it would be to not follow God's direction on this matter.
