Introduction to Dr. De Jong's Corollaries
Dr. James De Jong, president of Calvin Theological Seminary, has recently written a booklet entitled "Freeing the Conscience: Approaching the Women's Ordination Issue by Means of Theological Correlation." In it he postulates four corollaries designed to help the church arrive at a valid interpretation of the Word of God with respect to the ordination of women.
Beginning in August of 1999, copies of these corollaries were emailed to ministers and members of the CRC. Along with the text of each corollary a stated response was also included and the recipients were given the opportun- ity to evaluate between the two positions. The full text of each of these corollaries along with it's response are quoted below as indicated at the beginning of this section.
The menu above lists links to the text of those corollaries as well as a link through which evaluations of them can still be sent in.
The following lists the evaluations received so far on the corollaries. If you have not already, you are encouraged to reference the link listed above where you can go to the text of the corollaries and the link which gives instructions on submitting your evaluation of these statements and responses.Corollary Tallies To Date

DIALOGUE ON THE ORDINATION OF WOMEN IN THE CRCHow to Submit an Evaluation of the Corollaries
All Christians are encouraged to read the corollaries and the responses and evaluate them according to Scripture. Listed at the end of the text of each corollary are a number of links built-in for your convenience.
It is especially helpful if in responding you would give a brief explanation of why you evaluate them as you do. (This is not mandatory, but it does help the greater dialogue process.)
